Plant Therapy Jasmine Grandiflorum Absolute
Jasmine Grandiflorum, also known as Royal Jasmine, is a highly aromatic variety of Jasmine native to India. This evergreen climbing vine produces delicate white star-shaped flowers that must be hand-picked before dawn, when their aroma is most intense. This labor intensive process, along with the relatively low yield of oil produced by each petal, makes this a precious and highly prized product around the world.
With long-held associations with romance and sensuality, Jasmine Grandiflorum is often used to promote feelings of love. It is also known to help calm the mind, uplift the mood, and lighten heavy emotions such as nervousness and sadness. Jasmine Grandiflorum has an intense, heady, rich, and warm floral aroma with waxy tea-like and green notes. The aroma is similar to Jasmine Sambac, but possesses less of the lighter, sweeter characteristics. It is a popular ingredient in perfumes, soaps, and other cosmetic products due to its floral fragrance and naturally skin-nourishing properties.
The International Federation of Aromatherapists does not recommend that Essential Oils be taken internally unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor who is also qualified in clinical Aromatherapy. All cautions listed for individual oils do not include those cautions from ingestion.
